KoppyChats helps you save, organize, and export ChatGPT conversations from your own browser.
Plain-English summary: KoppyChats is designed to be local-first. Saved chats and exported files are intended to stay on your device unless you choose to share, upload, publish, or store them somewhere else.
Use this page for common support paths: installing the extension, exporting chats, saving to your local library, activating Pro, managing your subscription access, recovering access, refunds, privacy basics, and troubleshooting browser issues.
1. Quick start
To start using KoppyChats:
- Install the KoppyChats browser extension.
- Open or refresh a supported ChatGPT conversation page.
- Use the extension popup, floating save button, context menu, or keyboard shortcut to save or export the conversation.
- Open your local library to view saved chats, organize them, or export them again later.
- Upgrade to Pro if you need paid features such as expanded export workflows, folders, font options, higher usage limits, or other Pro-only tools shown inside the extension.
2. How to use KoppyChats
KoppyChats can be used in several ways depending on the action you want to take.
Extension popup: Open the KoppyChats extension popup from your browser toolbar. From there, you can save or export the current supported ChatGPT conversation, open your local library, check your plan status, and access settings or subscription-related tools.
Floating save button: On supported ChatGPT conversation pages, KoppyChats may show an in-page button or control that lets you save the current conversation to your local library.
Right-click context menu: On supported pages, you may be able to right-click and use KoppyChats actions such as saving a chat, exporting a chat, exporting JSON, opening local chats, or using selected-text actions where available.
Keyboard shortcut: KoppyChats may support a keyboard shortcut such as Ctrl + Shift + K, depending on your browser settings and whether the shortcut is enabled.
3. What KoppyChats can export
Depending on your version and plan, KoppyChats may support exports such as:
- HTML;
- print-friendly HTML;
- Markdown;
- TXT;
- DOCX;
- PDF;
- JSON; and
- ZIP or archive formats, where supported.
Some export types may take longer for very large conversations. If an export is slow, try HTML, Markdown, or TXT first.
4. What gets saved locally
KoppyChats is designed to be local-first. That means saved chats and exported files are intended to stay on your device unless you choose to share, upload, publish, or store them somewhere else.
KoppyChats may store the following locally in your browser or browser profile:
- saved chats;
- saved chat titles;
- source page URLs;
- timestamps;
- folder information;
- export metadata;
- user preferences;
- filename settings;
- local usage counters;
- subscription or license verification state; and
- other settings needed for the extension to work.
Saved conversations may use browser storage such as chrome.storage.local and extension IndexedDB storage.
Exported files are saved to your browser's default download location or another location you choose.
5. Free vs. Pro
KoppyChats may offer both Free and Pro access.
Free: The Free plan may include basic saving and exporting features within the free-plan limits shown in the extension. Free limits may include monthly save limits, export limits, feature restrictions, or other usage limits shown in the product.
Pro: KoppyChats Pro is subscription-based. Pro features are available while your subscription is active, paid, and successfully verified.
Depending on the current version, Pro may include expanded save and export workflows, folders or organization tools, selected-chat or selected-text tools, font options for supported exports, batch or archive export features where available, higher usage limits, and other Pro-only tools shown inside the extension.
6. Activating Pro
After purchase, KoppyChats may activate Pro through your purchase email, a license key, subscription verification, or another access method shown at checkout or in your confirmation email.
To activate Pro:
- Open the KoppyChats extension.
- Go to the license, subscription, or Pro access area.
- Enter the purchase email and license key or access details exactly as provided.
- Submit the activation request.
- Refresh any open ChatGPT tabs if needed.
If activation succeeds, the extension should show Pro as active.
7. Activation problems
If Pro activation fails, check the following:
- Make sure the purchase email is entered correctly.
- Remove extra spaces before or after the license key or access token.
- Confirm that your subscription is active.
- Confirm that the payment was successful.
- Check whether the device limit has already been reached.
- Make sure you are using the latest version of the extension.
- Refresh the ChatGPT tab and try again.
- Restart the browser if the extension state does not update.
If your subscription was cancelled, refunded, disputed, charged back, or failed payment, Pro access may stop working.
8. Recovering subscription access
If you lost your license key, activation email, or Pro access details, use the recovery option if available.
Because KoppyChats may store license keys or tokens securely instead of storing raw keys, recovery may issue a replacement key or access flow instead of resending the original key.
A replacement key or access token may disable the old key while keeping the subscription record connected to the same purchase where possible.
9. Managing your subscription
KoppyChats Pro is billed as a subscription through Stripe or another approved billing provider.
You may be able to manage your subscription through a billing portal provided by KoppyChats. Through the billing portal, you may be able to update payment details, view billing history, cancel your subscription, or manage renewal settings.
Cancelling your subscription stops future billing. It does not automatically refund previous payments unless required by law or approved under the Refund Policy.
Uninstalling the extension, deleting local data, removing a browser profile, or stopping use of KoppyChats does not automatically cancel your subscription.
10. Refund help
KoppyChats may offer refunds under the Refund Policy.
Refunds are usually reviewed based on the refund window, the reason for the request, account activity, product usage, technical issues, and whether there is evidence of abuse, excessive activation, license sharing, fraud, chargeback abuse, or violation of the Terms of Service.
If a refund is approved, Pro access may be cancelled, revoked, disabled, or downgraded.
Before filing a chargeback, contact support so the issue can be reviewed directly.
11. Troubleshooting
The extension does not detect the chat: Make sure you are on a supported ChatGPT conversation page. Then refresh the tab and try again. Some pages may not contain a full conversation or may use a page layout the extension cannot read.
Nothing happens from the popup: Make sure the active browser tab is a supported ChatGPT conversation page. Some actions are disabled outside supported pages. Refresh the page, reopen the popup, and try again.
The right-click menu is missing: Check that the extension is installed and enabled. Refresh the ChatGPT tab. Also check your browser's extension permissions and make sure KoppyChats is allowed to run on supported ChatGPT pages.
The keyboard shortcut does not work: Check your browser's extension shortcut settings. Another extension or browser command may already be using the same shortcut.
Export is slow: Very long conversations, conversations with images, or conversations with complex formatting may take longer to process. Try exporting as HTML, Markdown, or TXT first.
PDF or DOCX export looks different than the page: Some formatting may change when browser content is converted into PDF, DOCX, or other document formats. For the most complete visual export, try HTML or print-friendly HTML.
Images do not appear in the export: Some images may be hosted by third-party services, protected by browser rules, expired, blocked by permissions, or unavailable by the time the export is created.
Saved chats disappeared: Saved chats are stored locally in your browser or browser profile. Local data may be lost if you clear browser storage, delete the browser profile, uninstall the extension in a way that removes data, use a different browser profile, switch devices, reset the browser, or run cleanup software.
Pro was active, but now it is not: Pro access may need to be rechecked from time to time. Check that your subscription is still active, payment succeeded, the device limit has not been exceeded, your browser is online, the extension is up to date, and your subscription was not cancelled, refunded, disputed, or charged back.
12. Privacy basics
KoppyChats is designed to keep saved conversations local to your browser unless you choose to export, share, upload, or publish them somewhere else.
KoppyChats subscription and license checks may send information needed to verify Pro access, such as purchase email, subscription status, license token or key, device hash, extension version, activation status, and related access information.
KoppyChats is not designed to upload saved conversation bodies to the license server.
For more details, read the Privacy Policy.
13. Security tips
To keep your saved chats and exports safe:
- keep your device secure;
- protect your browser profile;
- do not share your license key or Pro access details;
- store exported files carefully;
- avoid saving sensitive exports in public or shared folders;
- back up important exports in a secure location; and
- contact support quickly if you believe your subscription access or license key has been misused.
14. Browser and platform limits
KoppyChats depends on browser APIs, extension permissions, Chrome Web Store rules, and the structure of supported ChatGPT pages.
If ChatGPT, OpenAI, Chrome, browser APIs, or browser store policies change, some features may temporarily stop working or require an extension update.
KoppyChats may attempt to update the extension when commercially reasonable, but third-party platform changes are outside KoppyChats' control.
15. Contact support
For help, email support@koppychats.com.
When contacting support, include your purchase email if the issue involves Pro, browser name and version, extension version, operating system, a short description of the issue, the action you were trying to perform, any error message you saw, and screenshots or screen recordings if you choose to provide them.
You do not need to send saved chat content unless you choose to provide it for troubleshooting.
